About

What this is

BeastBid is a leaderboard where monster cards compete.

Make one for free. It goes on Most Votes, ranked by votes in the last 28 days. Pay toward any beast — yours or anyone else's — and it climbs Most Money, ranked by everything ever spent on it, and its card gets better.

That's the whole thing.

What you're actually buying

An advertising placement on a public leaderboard. At $5 your beast can carry a link, marked Sponsored, and every click through it is counted and shown on the card as ATK.

That number is real. It's a record of what happened, not a promise about what will.

Money goes in and doesn't come out. No cash-out, no trading, no refunds. Your rank has no monetary value and someone can take it off you tomorrow by spending more. That's the game.

The house beasts

The board didn't start empty. We made the first beasts ourselves, and every one of them carries a HOUSE chip so you can tell.

They are backed at $0. Not a cent has been spent on any of them. When a country shows a house beast at #1, that means nobody from that country has taken it yet — not that anyone is winning.

The first real five dollars anywhere on this board takes the top of Most Money outright.

Why we're being this specific about it

While building this, we found a site running the same idea. It claimed 200 monsters, $8,046 in revenue, 166 people online and 32,000 clicks.

Its outbound links were dead. The products it claimed to be sending traffic to were placeholder names that returned nothing. It had no search footprint, no social footprint, nothing — for a site supposedly doing thousands of dollars a week.

Faking traction is easy. A number on a page costs nothing to type. So the counters here show real data or they show zero, and where we've put our thumb on the scale — the house beasts — it's labelled on the card, not buried on a page like this one.

You should assume every leaderboard you see is lying until it gives you a way to check. Ours gives you clicks you can verify in your own analytics.

Who made it

Tavis Brown, in London. It's a Granadilla Studio product.

It was built in a week. If you find something broken, that's why.

Rules, briefly

Own what you upload. Nothing sexual, hateful, or illegal. Don't point links at anything that would embarrass you.

Vote how you like — one per beast per browser per day. Rigging it is possible and we'd rather write about it than pretend it can't happen.
