Terms of Service

BeastBid ("the site") is operated by Granadilla Studio Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 17196115). By using the site you agree to these terms.

If you don't agree with them, don't use the site.

1. What BeastBid is

BeastBid is a public leaderboard. You create a monster card ("a beast") and it competes on two boards: Most Money, ranked by the total amount paid toward that beast, and Most Votes, ranked by votes received in the last 28 days.

Paying money toward a beast buys a sponsored advertising placement on a public leaderboard. It buys nothing else. It is not a good, not a collectible, not an investment, not a bet, and not a donation to any person.

2. Creating a beast

You can create one beast for free. Further beasts can be earned through votes or purchased.

You are responsible for everything on your card — the name, the prompt, the ability line, the stat labels, and any art you upload. Don't put anything on it you wouldn't put on a billboard with your name underneath.

We may remove any card, at any time, for any reason. In practice we remove cards that break section 5.

3. Paying

All payments are in US dollars, processed by Stripe. We do not store your card details.

Money goes in and never comes out. There is no cash-out, no payout, no withdrawal, no transfer, no trading, no stored balance, no wallet, no credit and no refund. Your position on a leaderboard has no monetary value and cannot be sold, exchanged or redeemed.

Payments are final. We do not offer refunds. What you pay for is delivered instantly and in full at the moment of payment: your money is added to a beast's ranked position, you are credited as a backer, and any unlocks at that spend level become available immediately. There is nothing outstanding to refund.

Anyone can pay toward any beast. You do not need to own a beast to back it. Backing someone else's beast gives you credit as a backer and nothing else — no ownership, no control over its link, art, name or anything else. Only the beast's owner controls those.

Ranks can be overtaken at any time. Someone else spending more than you will rank above you. That is the entire point of the product and is not a fault.

4. Removal and forfeiture

If we remove your card or your link because it breaks these terms, you forfeit the placement and any money paid toward it. We do not refund in these circumstances.

We may also alter, reorder, restyle or remove any listing, board, tier or feature at any time.

5. What you must not do

You must not put on the site, or link to, anything that:

  • you do not own or have the rights to use
  • infringes anyone's copyright, trademark or other rights
  • is sexual, violent, hateful, or harassing
  • is illegal, or promotes anything illegal
  • depicts a real identifiable person without their consent
  • misleads people about what they will find at the other end of a link
  • distributes malware, or attempts phishing or fraud
  • attempts to manipulate votes, rankings or counters by automated means

You warrant that you own or hold rights to everything you upload. If someone tells us you don't, we may remove it first and ask questions after.

6. Links

Beasts at Holo tier and above can carry an outbound link. All outbound links are marked "Sponsored", carry rel="sponsored nofollow", and route through our click tracker.

We check submitted links against Google Safe Browsing and a blocklist before they go live. That check is automated, imperfect, and not an endorsement. We do not vet the content or the businesses behind linked sites. Follow links at your own risk.

We may remove any link at any time, without refund, if it is reported, flagged, or we simply don't want it on the site.

7. What we don't promise

We show real numbers: real clicks, real votes, real amounts. We do not fake activity or inflate counters.

But we do not promise traffic, clicks, views, conversions, sales, SEO benefit, or any outcome whatsoever. The click count on your card is a record of what happened, not a forecast of what will.

The site is provided as-is. We don't guarantee it will be available, correct, or free of bugs. We may take it down.

8. Your account

Sign-in is by Google or by a code sent to your email. There are no passwords.

You are responsible for keeping access to your email or Google account. If you lose access to both, we may not be able to return control of your beast to you.

You can ask us to delete your account. Your beast and any payments made toward it may remain on the boards — other people paid toward them, and removing them would misrepresent the board's history.

9. Voting

Voting is free and requires no account. One vote per beast per browser per day.

We monitor for vote manipulation. If we think votes have been faked, we may remove them, remove the beast, or both. The prize is bragging rights, so we won't always be forensic about it.

10. Liability

Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.

Subject to that, our total liability to you for anything arising out of the site is limited to the amount you have paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits, lost business, or lost opportunity.

11. Changes

We may change these terms. If we do, we'll update the date at the top. Continuing to use the site means you accept the change.

12. Law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.

If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of protections you have under the law of your own country.
